President Halimah Yacob, who is on a State Visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, arrived in Riyadh on 5 November 2019, after a visit to Madinah organised by the Saudi Royal Protocol. President received an official welcome ceremony by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Bandar Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of Riyadh, at the Royal Terminal in Riyadh.
President called on His Majesty King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, on 6 November 2019. King Salman also hosted a State Banquet Lunch in honour of President and Mr Mohamed Abdullah Alhabshee. During their engagements, President and King Salman affirmed the warm and longstanding bilateral relationship and discussed ways to expand cooperation, including through Singapore’s support for Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic agenda and G20 Presidency in 2020. President also thanked King Salman for inviting Singapore to participate in the G20 meetings in Saudi Arabia in 2020, which Singapore was honoured to accept.
King Salman conferred President with the King Abdulaziz Medal, the highest civilian honour in Saudi Arabia.
Earlier in the day, President met with Prince Faisal. They discussed development projects in the Riyadh Governorate and the resulting opportunities for Singapore companies.
