CG Ong Siew Gay visited Wuxi on 3 August 2012 to attend the Singapore Wuxi Club National Day Dinner, in celebration of Singapore’s 47th year of independence. Delivering his National Day speech to a Singaporean crowd, CG noted the importance of overseas Singaporeans as representatives of our country. The close-knit Singaporean community in Wuxi embodied this year’s National Day theme, Loving Singapore, Our Home.
CG also affirmed the excellent ties between Singapore and Wuxi, symbolised by the Wuxi-Singapore Industrial Park (WSIP) which he visited earlier that afternoon. CG noted WSIP’s remarkable progress since its inception in 1993, and expressed confidence in WSIP’s future developments.
