Mr Lim Siong Guan, Group President of Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC), addressed a 100-plus crowd of Singaporeans at the seventh instalment of the Distinguished Business Leaders (DBL) series in Shanghai on 24 August 2012.
Mr Lim, whose distinguished public service career included being Head of Civil Service, Permanent Secretary of key Ministries like Finance and Defence, and Chairman of EDB, spoke on the role of the GIC as a vehicle to invest on the government's surplus reserves to ensure the country's long-term financial security.
Mr Lim's speech was followed by a robust and lively Q&A session and a buffet during which the distinguished public servant continued to mingle with the Singapore crowd.
