Singapore’s home-grown production company Toy Factory was in Shanghai from 28-30 March 2014 to perform at the closing of the Shanghai Original Musicals Festival 2014 at the Shanghai Culture Square. This is the first time a foreign production group has been invited to participate in the Festival.
CG Ong Siew Gay and Shanghai CPC Publicity Department Vice-Minister Chen Dong were guests-of-honor at the Gala Night on 29 March 2014. The Consulate-General also invited Shanghai luminaries such as Mr Xue Peijian from the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Shanghai Standing Committee, Mr Zhang Minxuan from the Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee, and Mr Peng Yuwen, Executive Vice President of the Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association.
