The Singapore Consulate-General in Shanghai hosted a reception on 17 August 2018 in celebration of Singapore’s 53rd National Day on 9 August 2018.
The theme for this year’s reception was Singapore’s Hawker Cuisine, which is a reflection of Singapore’s multi-racial and multi-cultural heritage. Singapore will be nominating our hawker culture for UNESCO’s representative list of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
We were honoured to receive Executive Vice Mayor of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government Mr Zhou Bo, Vice Chairperson of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress' Foreign Affairs Committee Mr Zhou Hong, Vice Chairperson of the Shanghai Political Consultative Congress' Proposal Committee Mr Zhu Gang and Deputy Director-General of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government's Foreign Affairs Office Mr Fu Jihong, Consul-Generals in Shanghai, as well as leaders and friends from Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai.
