JOINT PRESS RELEASE
Singapore and The Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu (Chinese Taipei), both members of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), have agreed to explore the feasibility of an economic cooperation agreement between them. Both sides will meet later in the year to discuss the matter.
Singapore and Chinese Taipei have always enjoyed close relations. Chinese Taipei appreciates Singapore's role in promoting regional stability including the facilitation of the 1993 Koo-Wang talks.
