MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS PRESS STATEMENT: WORKING VISIT OF THE HEIR APPARENT OF QATAR HIS HIGHNESS SHEIKH TAMIM BIN HAMAD AL-THANI TO THE REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE 8 - 10 NOVEMBER 2010
The Heir Apparent of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, will be in Singapore from 8 to 10 November 2010 for the 4th Qatar-Singapore High Level Joint Committee. Inaugurated in 2006, the annual High Level Joint Committee is co-chaired by Sheikh Tamim and Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Wong Kan Seng. The co-chairs will witness the signings of 4 Agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Singapore in areas such as tourism cooperation, air services, training and cultural programmes. While in Singapore, Sheikh Tamim will be hosted to a lunch by Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong. He will also call on President S R Nathan and meet Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew. In addition, Sheikh Tamim will tour Pulau Tekong and be briefed on Singapore's National Service and Reservist Policies by the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF).
