Member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam His Excellency Nguyen Xuan Phuc will visit Singapore as the 48th Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellow from 10 to 13 May 2015.
While in Singapore, Deputy Prime Minister Phuc will call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. He will be hosted to a meal by Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean and meet Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Lawrence Wong. Deputy Prime Minister Phuc will receive briefings by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Law, the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau, the Public Service Division, the Economic Development Board, and the Casino Regulatory Authority. He will also be visiting the exhibition titled “In Memoriam: Lee Kuan Yew” at the National Museum of Singapore, and the Tanglin Community Club. Mr Eddie Teo, Chairman of the Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellowship (LKYEF), will host a welcome dinner for Deputy Prime Minister Phuc.
Established in 1991, the LKYEF programme invites outstanding individuals for high-level visits to Singapore. The Fellows are chosen on the basis of their proven track records or extraordinary potential to contribute to the development of their nations, as well as promote international understanding and goodwill. Deputy Prime Minister Phuc is the fourth Fellow from Vietnam.
