SINGAPORE CONGRATULATES RECIPIENTS OF THE 2023 ASEAN SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

4 NOVEMBER 2022

This afternoon, the Singapore Embassy hosted a ceremony to congratulate recipients of the 2023 ASEAN Scholarship Award and their proud parents. The Award allows bright young students from countries such as Cambodia an opportunity to study in Singapore.  It is valid for four years from Secondary 3 to Pre-university 2, leading to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level certificate, or similar qualification.  This year’s recipients are Kuy Judy, Vonthanak Tevy and Chhin Danin.

Ambassador Teo Lay Cheng said: “as a small country with limited resources, Singapore is a firm believer of human capital development.  The ASEAN Scholarship is yet another example of Singapore’s abiding commitment to help support Cambodia’s growth journey – in this instance, by grooming promising youth to become leaders of tomorrow”.

The Guest-of-Honour at the ceremony was Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport Secretary of State Yuok Ngoy.  Also present were Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Deputy Director ASEAN Department Uch Borom and Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport Chief of Scholarship Office Ok Samol.
