25 Aug 2017

Hurricane Harvey was recently upgraded to a Category 3 storm and is expected to make landfall on the middle Texas coast late tonight or early tomorrow.  According to the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Harvey will bring life-threatening storm surge (6 to 12 feet above ground), rainfall (15 to 25 inches) and wind hazards (111-129 mph) to portions of the Texas Coast.

Singaporeans travelling to or residing in the affected States are reminded to be prepared for Hurricane Harvey as it will likely bring about catastrophic rainfall flooding, dangerous storm-surge flooding and destructive winds this weekend.  We advise that you closely monitor local weather forecasts and heed the advice of local authorities if an evacuation is necessary.
